Insulation contractor in Lubbock, doing the groundwork first

Spray foam insulation fills the exposed wall framing around a plastic-covered window in an unfinished room.

From hauling hose to running the crew

I got into this trade as a helper on a small insulation crew around Lubbock, hauling hose and bags through attics and learning the work one job at a time. By 2021 I knew how I wanted it done, so I opened Airlock Lubbock Spray Foam Insulation, and today our crew works in Lubbock and the cities around it, including Wolfforth, Slaton, Levelland, Plainview, Littlefield and Brownfield.

Most people who call me have a room that's hot upstairs while the rest of the house is fine, or an old attic that's gone thin and tired, and some are business owners with a building to insulate. What I care about most is that you understand your job before you agree to anything, so I take whatever time your questions need, and if a roof leak or old wiring has to be fixed first, I'll tell you that rather than cover it up with new insulation.

What you can count on when we work on your house

Here's how we handle every job and why we do it that way. You can see the full list of what we do from our home page.

We fix what has to come first

Before any insulation goes in, we do the air sealing, closing gaps around can lights, pipes and the attic hatch, and we pull out old material that got soaked or full of droppings, so what you pay for actually works. If a gas appliance needs checking or old material shouldn't be disturbed, I tell you up front and help you plan the job around it.

The owner looks at your job in person

I'm the one who comes out to see your attic, walls or crawl space and writes the estimate, so you hear it from the person responsible for the work. Ask as many questions as you have, and ask the same one twice if you want, because I'd rather you understand it than just sign.

Licensed, insured and handling your permit

We're licensed and insured, and when a job needs a permit, we get it from the city where your house sits and take care of the paperwork. If we aren't sure a job needs one, we call that city's building office and ask before we start. In Lubbock that's the Building Inspection Department, and since Texas doesn't license building contractors but the city requires them to register with that department, it's a fair question to put to anyone you're thinking of hiring.

How a job goes, from your call to the final walk-through

What's already in your attic, how much sealing and cleanup it needs and whether foam or loose fill fits your house set the price, while permits and anything that has to be fixed first set the schedule. Your estimate spells out both for your house.

  1. Call or send the form

Call (806) 370-4846 or use our contact form, and we'll reply within one business day to set a time to come out. Tell us what you're noticing, like a drafty room, cold floors or a high power bill, and roughly how old the house is.

  2. I look at the job and write the estimate

The estimate is free and done on site with no pressure to book, and I go over what I see, including how many inches are already up there, before you decide anything. Foam costs more and seals air as it insulates, but in most attics sealing the gaps and topping up with blown-in, loose fill blown through a hose, is the better buy unless your ductwork lives up there.

  3. Our crew does the work

Our own crew does the job, sealing first and then laying the insulation evenly out to the edges with the eave vents kept clear, and any permit the job needs is in place before we start. If you'll need to step out, as with spray foam, we tell you ahead of time when you, the kids and the pets can come back in.

  4. I check the finished job with you

When the crew is done, I go through the finished job with you so you can see what was sealed and how deep the insulation runs. Satisfaction guaranteed on every job.

Have me come look at your attic

I can only tell you what your house needs once I've seen what's up there, so call (806) 370-4846 or send the contact form to set a time.

If you're still wondering whether your attic or crawl space needs work, send me the question and I'll answer it in plain words.
