A Lubbock crew that starts with the groundwork
Most of our calls come from homeowners with uneven rooms or a tired old attic, and some come from business owners with a building to insulate. I'd rather tell you to fix a roof leak or old wiring first than cover it up with new insulation, and you can read more about us and how we work.
About our businessI started out as a helper on a small insulation crew around Lubbock, hauling hose and bags through attics, and I opened Airlock Lubbock Spray Foam Insulation in 2021 once I knew how I wanted the work done. That's five years on our own now, and we're licensed and insured.
Insulation contractor services in Lubbock, TX
Airlock Lubbock Spray Foam Insulation is an insulation contractor in Lubbock, TX, with 16 services for the hot upstairs, the drafty room over the garage, cold floors and a power bill that keeps climbing. The price mostly turns on how many inches are already up there, whether old or soiled material has to come out first, and whether foam or loose fill fits your house. The schedule turns on the same things, plus anything that has to be fixed before we start. You get your own figure at a free on-site estimate, after I've looked at the space and walked you through what I found.

Spray foam insulation
Spray foam goes on wet, swells to fill the space and seals air while it insulates. It suits rooflines, rim joists and attics where the ductwork lives.

Attic insulation
Is it hot upstairs all summer? Most of the time the attic is short on insulation or leaking house air into it, and we fix both so the rooms below hold their temperature.

Blown-in insulation
Blown-in insulation is loose fill blown through a hose. We use it to bring a thin or settled attic back up to a full, even depth across the whole floor.

Home insulation
When a house is drafty in winter and hot in summer, we look at the attic, walls and crawl space together. Then we tell you which part to fix first and why.

Insulation removal
Old insulation that's soaked, matted or full of droppings has to go before anything new goes in. We vacuum it out and clean up, so the problem doesn't stay hidden under fresh material.

Crawl space insulation
Cold floors over a crawl space usually mean the floor above it has little or nothing under it. We insulate the crawl space walls or the floor framing, depending on how the space is built.

Wall insulation
Can you insulate walls that are already closed up? Usually yes, and we fill exterior walls in older homes through small holes or insulate open walls during a remodel.

Air sealing services
Air sealing is closing the gaps around pipes, wires, can lights and the attic hatch before insulation goes in. It's what keeps your new insulation from fighting a draft.

Basement insulation
We insulate basement walls and the rim joist, the band of framing that sits on the foundation, so a cold lower level feels more like the rest of the house.

Closed-cell foam insulation
Closed-cell foam is a dense foam that blocks moisture as well as air. We use it on rim joists, crawl space walls and anywhere water is a worry.

Open-cell foam insulation
Open-cell foam is softer and lighter than closed-cell, and it costs less. It fills rooflines and wall cavities well where moisture isn't the main concern.

Commercial insulation
We insulate offices, shops and metal buildings for business owners around Lubbock. I walk the building with you before you get a price.

Crawl space vapor barrier
A musty smell coming up through the floors often starts with bare dirt in the crawl space. We lay heavy plastic over it and seal the seams and edges, so ground moisture stays away from the framing.

Vapor barrier installation
We install vapor barriers on walls, ceilings and crawl spaces where moisture moving through the house could reach the insulation and framing.

Attic air sealing
Before we add anything to an attic, we seal the spots where house air leaks up into it. It's the step that gets skipped most, and it's why a freshly insulated attic can still leave the rooms below drafty.

Retrofit insulation
Retrofit insulation is adding insulation to a house that's already built. We work through the attic, the existing walls and the crawl space and try to keep your finished rooms as undisturbed as we can.
Why homeowners call us for insulation
Most of what goes wrong with insulation happens before the first bag is opened, so that's where we spend our time. Satisfaction guaranteed on every job, and when you're ready, call (806) 370-4846 or use our contact form.
Leaks and attic problems fixed before insulation
We find hidden air leaks, wet or dirty old material and anything else up there that would undercut the new work, and we deal with it first. Insulation laid over a problem doesn't do the job you paid for.
The owner comes out and writes your estimate
I look at the attic, walls or crawl space myself and answer your questions in plain words, however many you have. Our own crew does the work, and I check the finished job with you.
Told up front when a job should wait
If a gas appliance needs checking or old material shouldn't be disturbed, I tell you at the estimate. Then we help you plan around it so the work happens in the right order.
City permits handled when your job needs one
When a job calls for a permit, we get it from the city your house sits in and take care of the paperwork. If we aren't sure, we call that city's building office and ask before we start.

How we choose between foam and loose fill
Foam costs more, and it seals air while it insulates. For most attics I'd rather seal the gaps and top up the loose fill, because that gets you most of the comfort for less. The exception is ductwork running through the attic, and then foam on the roofline usually makes more sense.
Either way, we seal first, keep the eave vents clear so the attic can still breathe, and carry the insulation full depth out to the edges, which is where attics most often come up thin. With foam, you'll be out of the house while it goes on and for a while after. Before we start, I'll tell you the re-entry time, when it's safe for you, the kids and the pets to come back inside.
